“If she only had known that the little girl in the pink tutu, ballet shoes and a fire in her soul, one day would make her passion a lifestyle”.
Originally from Limassol, Cyprus, Maria has been in the dance world from an early age. Her love and passion for dance started at the age of 4 when she took her first ballet class. Since then, she has spent all her early and teenage years training mostly in classical ballet under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) system education. Besides her classical training, Maria decided to train in more dance styles such as contemporary, jazz and Latin Dance.
Even though she started as a ballet dancer, Maria wanted to expand her knowledge and become a more versatile dancer. She opened her wings at the age of 17, when she got accepted to study at one of the UK’s leading conservatories of dance. She trained at London Studio Centre where she received a BA Hons in Theatre Dance. During her studies, Maria had been trained in several genres of dance including ballet, classical partnering, contemporary (Graham, Limon), jazz, tap, hip hop and commercial as well as singing and drama. During the last year of her studies, she had the opportunity to tour the UK with the Jazz Company, and to work with some of the UK’s top choreographers in the dance industry.
Maria has since been working professionally as a performer and has also been given the opportunity to work as a Dance Captain and Assistant Choreographer. Alongside performing, Maria also teaches and coaches students from professional dancers to amateurs providing them advanced level dance classes and workshops.
Her unstoppable thirst of learning had her in Los Angeles’s biggest dance studios and intensives. She has been coached individually by Galen Hooks (Galen Hook’s Method) and Aisha Francis. (Former Beyoncé’s back up dancer)
